At Remap we recognise that many of the people we help are at particular risk from coronavirus. In addition, our free service is provided by a network of volunteers, many of whom are retired and at additional risk themselves.

Our priority is to keep everyone safe so we are avoiding face to face contact where possible. You can find our policy statement here. As ever, please contact your nearest Remap group for their advice.

Keep well and stay safe!

Reversing mirrors

Posted 2 November 2015 in Stories

Peter was becoming increasingly nervous about navigating his chair, as he just couldn’t see where he was going when he needed to reverse for any reason, so a volunteer from Remap has fitted wing mirrors to his chair.

Reversing mirrors can cause a problem when fixed to a wheelchair as they increase the width, perhaps making it too wide for doorways. John Howard from Remap South Herts has fitted slim mirrors to avoid this difficulty.
