Fred Maillardet is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers where he chairs the Education Advisory Group.
He worked as a Design Engineer for GEC Marine and Nuclear Division before entering the academic world. He retired in 2003 following 14 years as Professor of Engineering and Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering at the University of Brighton. He chaired the national Engineering Professors’ Council from 2003 to 2005 and continues to be active as chairman of the Mathematics Working Group.
Until recently Fred chaired the Brighton and District Remap group which he helped form in 1976 and is still an active member.
