Technical Volunteers  (this is taken from TETRA so needs rewording!)

Remap comprises small local panels of technical, health professional and adminstrative volunteers led by a chairman. All out of pocket expenses such as materials and mileage are reimbursed. Volunteers do not have to be engineers , alhtough most are.  All technical skillls are appreciated to ensure a good cross section of skills.

Job description/responsibilities                                 David Pitt receiving his Remap Award from Heinz Wolff

- Participate in monthly volunteer meetings.

-  Meet clients in the presence of a third- party (friend, family member,caregiver etc.)

-  Design and build an assistive device or adaptation solution based on identified requirements, within a pre-determined timeframe.

-  Follow safety guidelines establsihed by Tetra

-  Make adjustments to assistive devie as necessary, until both volunteer and clietn are satisfied with the results

- provide documentation of project solutions, including detailed diagrams/photgraphs, wherever possible.

- present project solutions and suggestions at volunteer meetings.

Time committment

Because each request is unique, the time required for each project varies.
