We are committed to delivering our essential services as safely as possible. We will continue to ensure the safety of the people we serve, their occupational therapists, carers, and the Remap volunteers who design, make and install specialist equipment. We will continue to monitor Government and NHS guidance regarding social distancing and Personal Protective Equipment and we will undertake sufficient risk assessments.

We are still here, able to provide help, and we will continue to take special measures to do so.

Walking aid extension

Posted 18 June 2015 in Stories

Brian uses a walking aid because of his multiple sclerosis, but as he is 6ft 7in tall he had to stoop to use it. This was giving him backache and prevented him walking far.

Members from Remap Tyne extended Brian’s rollator, making it the correct height for him to use it comfortably.

Brian’s physiotherapist writes, ‘This has helped us resolve the problem in a very satisfactory way. It will impact significantly on my patient’s ability to move around and subsequently on his quality of life.’
