Equipment to help Jon paint

Jon using Remap equipment

We design and custom-make equipment to help disabled people live more independent lives. This includes mobility, help in the home, managing personal care, enjoying sports and hobbies and much more. All our work is carried out and checked by expert engineers, carpenters, technicians and occupational therapists.

Our help is provided free of charge because we are a charity.

We are passionate about helping disabled people to become more independent and enjoy the things they want to do. Last year we helped over 3,500 people in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and all the equipment we made was given free of charge.

How does Remap work?

When you contact us we will ask you for a few details about what you need, to assess whether we can help you. If some equipment that would help you already exists, we will encourage you to buy that. Our help is for situations where there is nothing commercially available that is suitable.

If we think we can help, a volunteer from your nearest group will visit you at your home to discuss your situation and understand what you need. We like to have an occupational therapist there too. Following that, we will design and make a piece of equipment specifically for you, in a way that meets your needs. Sometimes we will modify existing equipment to make it more suitable for you.

We make no charge for the devices we make and each item is made for an individual person.

What sort of equipment do we make?

The list is endless, but there are some examples of completed items in the stories section of this website. But don’t allow your imagination to be limited by those examples! We know that each person is different and we want to understand what challenges you face. Then we will work with you to devise a gadget that will help you.
