Volunteering roles – Chairperson
What will I be doing?
Using your management skills to provide leadership to a valuable local branch of a national charity whose volunteers design and make pieces of equipment for disabled people. You will be the local representative of the charity, raising awareness within your community, giving talks, and fostering relationships with key external stakeholders.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for people who have excellent communication skills and proven experience in leading a team. It is not a requirement that you have engineering experience for this role. In addition to leading the local branch, the chair will increase the charity’s profile to increase the number of referrals received and a number of active volunteers. The chair will be assisted by a Secretary, Adminsitrator, and Case Officer.
Good computer skills are essential, along with the ability to travel within the local area for this role. Any out-of-pocket expenses will be paid.
